The pattern
-
Step 1: Lower Basket Body and Toilet-Paper Opening

Work the standard 56-stitch basket in taupe, exactly as for the Gnome. Finish with a slip-stitch top edge and do the roll fit check.
-
Step 2: Head, Ears, and Muzzle

Head (taupe): Use the 54-stitch sphere chart. Install the eyes before the final decreases. Stuff evenly; the finished head is about 12–13 cm wide.
Ears (make 2): Taupe: R1 6, R2 12, R3 18, R4 18. Pink inner ear: R1 6, R2 12. Sew the pink circle onto the taupe circle, fold the lower edge slightly, and attach.
Muzzle (cream): Ch 8. Work an oval around the chain to 18 sts; R2 increase at the ends to 24; R3 sc 24. Lightly stuff. Embroider a brown triangular nose and mouth before sewing the muzzle to the head.
-
Step 3: Arms, Legs, Paw Pads, and Bow

- Arms ×2 (taupe/brown): 12 sc circumference × 10 rounds, lightly stuffed.
- Legs ×2: R1 6, R2 12, R3 18, R4–R8 18, R9 decrease to 12. Flatten the front slightly.
- Paw pads: Center ×2 (pink): 6 sc in MR, increase to 12. Toe pads: make 6 tiny 6-sc circles. Sew to a cream oval foot patch.
- Bow (pink): Ch 16, hdc 15 for 8 rows. Pinch the center and wrap it 12–15 times with yarn.
-
Step 4: Final Assembly

Attach the head, ears, and muzzle. Sew the arms at the upper sides and the legs at the lower front. Add the paw pads facing forward. Tack the bow under the muzzle/neck area and place the floral accent beside it. Check that both feet sit flat and the opening is centered.
Finishing & quality check
Use this same finishing order for every design in the collection:
- Block and shape the empty basket, and verify the roll opening.
- Attach the major head/top section, centered over the opening.
- Pin paired parts first; compare them from the front and side before sewing.
- Sew accessories and decorative parts only after the structural seams are secure.
- Insert the roll, adjust the shaping, weave in all tails, and perform the final size check.
Final quality checklist — before you call it done:
- Roll slides in and out freely
- Holder stands without tipping
- Paired parts are symmetrical
- No stuffing is visible
- All yarn tails are buried
- Eyes and decorations are secure
- Finished dimensions are within about 1 cm of target
Care & placement
- Place finished holders on a dry shelf or floor position beside the toilet.
- Keep them away from direct moisture, shower spray, wet floors, and sink splashes.
- Leave the roll opening unobstructed.
- Spot clean only. Reshape while damp and air dry completely.
- Hide all yarn tails inside the work, and reinforce load-bearing attachment points.
- For child-accessible decor, embroider eyes instead of using removable small parts.
